In 2009 I became General Manager of Pacific Stock Inc. the world’s only marketing and stock photography agency specialising in Hawaii and Pacific Rim. As the world was just starting to recover from the GFC, my task was very clear. Restructure the agency, cut costs where possible, align business units and increase profits.

Instead of taking a more traditional approach, I was committed to keep my teams intact and expand the sales and marketing teams as opposed to what many of our competitors were doing (downsizing staff to save costs). I always viewed that approach as a temporary fix rather than a sustainable long-term strategy.

Renowned author Jeffrey Gitomer once said: “No risk, no nothing”. I therefore took a strategic risk by setting up additional offshore sales teams in Chicago, New York and L.A.. This increased business efficiency as we now had boots on the ground in areas of the country where local time differences had a big impact on servicing clients during normal business hours. This also enabled our team in Hawaii to centralise all of our marketing assets and make quick adjustments with the feedback given by the offshore sales teams.

As a result, the teams were able to grow their client portfolio and upsell new products and services to existing clients. I then started seeing other potential opportunities in the market such as high-end Wall Art on which we were able to capitalise quickly with the new sister company brand Printscapes.com.

After I migrated to Australia to be reunited with my family, I’ve always applied the same fundamentals in every situation and role throughout my career which has proven to be incredibly successful and beneficial to my team, my clients and the organisation.

In 2022, at ActionCOACH ANZ I helped launch the Brisbane branch, developed Marcom strategies, and co-led acclaimed business workshops. We achieved a high engagement with over 70 workshop registrations and 20+ new memberships within a few weeks time. We revamped the website with e-commerce and LMS integrations. actioncoach.au

In 2023 I’ve led the digital marketing team at the Lincoln Institute as Dep. Marketing Director. I was in charge of rebranding and sales initiatives, including orchestrating a comprehensive brand and website overhaul with automated EDM and LMS integrations. I aligned the Marketing and Sales departments to boost operational efficiency and strategy coherence, resulting in a 50% increase in sales and partnerships. lincolninstitute.com.au
